Screenwriter, Novelist and BBC Script Editor, Barbara Jane Mackie will be holding more Writing Workshops at the Blacksheep Bar and Restaurant in Union Street, Ryde on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd of September. Screenwriting and TV Script writing will be the focus of this three day course. Highly experienced TV Scriptwriter Robin Mukherjee will be joining Barbara to teach and run a full day’s workshop. Robin’s credits include ‘The Bill’, ‘Casualty’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Where the Heart Is’ for ITV and also the film ‘Laura’ released in cinemas this summer.

With an extensive background in producing, writing and developing BBC dramas ‘Dangerfield’, ‘Bad Company’ and ‘Dalziel and Pascoe’, Barbara has now completed her first novel, the comedy, ‘Eat the View.’   Barbara has extensive experience of teaching and leading dynamic writing workshops and recently received her Masters degree in Creative Writing from Portsmouth University. September’s WRITE STUFF workshops will be laid out as follows: -

Day One:  How to develop and sell a great Screenplay. Finding your plot, developing character and location, building your world. Looking at film clips and at Scripts that really work. Film/Script analysis. Writing for Actors. Visual Analysis. Book-to-Screen-Adaptations. (Writers invited to join Barbara at dinner at The Black Sheep at 7.30pm Sat.  Optional)

The Write Stuff - writers course

Day Two:  The Screenplay. Writing scenes and receiving feedback. Guest Speaker Robin Mukherjee will be leading the group in TV SCript and Screenwriting.

Day Three: Polishing Your Script. Group readings and feedback. Writers are urged to invite friends and family to listen to their work at 3.00pm.

Cost: £130 for three days to include all lunches, teas and coffees.  Book at The Blacksheep Bar  10.30am-5.00pm Friday & Saturday, finish at 4.00pm Sunday.
